My painting and mixed media works on canvas are an experiential path to self realization and spiritual growth. My approach when painting and drawing is process oriented with an intention to be present, express emotions and access my creative unconscious. Imagery relating to nature and figures may emerge.

The experience living in China for ten years and traveling throughout SE Asia had a great impact on me and my artwork and can be seen in the use of calligraphic line integrated with shape and color.  Elements in my abstract works  reflect a range of ideas and inspiration including Buddhist and Taoist philosophies, diverse cultures, women's issues, as well a strong connection with and love of nature.  As an environmental activist my painting and creative projects honor the natural world and highlight awareness of the interdependence of all living things.

Creative projects include 'Mother Tree Project and Baby Tree Adoption' in Wendell, NC 2017, photography series 'Tree_ple', a project of (T)reality. In 2015 I organized BEE-IN - NYC - music, art and education festival in Bowling Green Park, Manhattan, to raise awareness about the decline of pollinators, in conjunction with the People's Climate March in NYC and in collaboration with Rev Billy and the Stop Shopping Gospel Choir. Public art + activism motivated by my passion for protecting the sacred earth and the web of biodiverse life, with our children and future generations in mind.

In 2009 I received a Master of Fine Arts degree in Painting from William Paterson University, NJ. I received a BA in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I have studied with noted artists Miriam Beerman and Omiros Rhiso in NJ. During my years in China I enrolled in the Central Academy of Fine Art in Beijing, East China Normal University, Shanghai, and HK Arts Centre in Hong Kong. My work has been exhibited at William Paterson University, A.I.R. Gallery, NYC, Glance Gallery, Raleigh, NC, Belskie Museum in New Jersey and Hong Kong University, among other venues. William Paterson University purchased four large scale paintings for the permanent collection, University Galleries and the President's home.

For nine years I taught as an adjunct professor of art at Bergen Community College and Passaic County Community College in New Jersey and also Wake Tech Community College with experience teaching Art Appreciation and Visual Culture, Drawing, Painting and 2 D Design.
